The Monroe County Detention Facility is at 200 South Main Street, Clarendon, AR 72029. The current building was put up in 1987 and 1988. The "Old Jail" still stands behind the current one. The facility holds up to 40 adult male inmates. It takes pre-trial detainees and post-conviction inmates who get short terms. No smoking is allowed.
A full-time kitchen serves three meals a day. Trustee inmates help cook and clean up. That helps keep the facility running at low cost. The jail has a small staff for a small facility. Staff run intake, health checks, and all yard time.
Visitation runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Each visit lasts 20 minutes. An inmate can have up to 5 names on the visit list. A valid photo ID is required to come in.
