Arkansas County Jail Roster Access
Arkansas County does not run a public web roster. The jail keeps the list in-house. To find out if someone is booked, you have two main paths.
First, call the Sheriff's Office at 870-946-1421 during work hours. Ask the deputy on duty for a name check. They can tell you if the person is in custody, what the booking date was, and what the charges are. They may also give the bond amount. A phone check is free.
Second, file a written records request under Arkansas Code § 25-19-101. This is the state's Freedom of Information Act. Under the law, the Sheriff has three work days to reply. Some records will be held back, such as juvenile files under Arkansas Code § 9-27-309 and medical records under Arkansas Code § 12-12-1707. Most adult booking data is public.
The Arkansas Sheriff's Association page for the county, at arkansassheriffsassociation.com, lists visit hours, phone lines, and money drop steps. It is a good first stop for basic jail info.

The jail takes in people who are waiting for trial and people who are doing short time. Under state rules, county jails can hold people for up to 24 months.
Arkansas Code § 12-41-502 gives the Sheriff full charge of the jail and every person in it. The Sheriff makes sure the jail meets state rules. Arkansas County has two county seats, DeWitt and Stuttgart. This is rare in Arkansas. Court cases split between the two towns based on the township of arrest. The jail, though, is only in DeWitt.
