Sheriff Phillip E. Miller leads the White County Sheriff's Office. He has worked in the office since 2001. He was sworn in as Sheriff in 2018. The office had 16,207 assigned calls in a six-month period. Staff served 2,300 warrants and civil papers and patrolled 353,657 miles in the same time frame. Under Arkansas Code § 12-41-502, the Sheriff has custody of the jail and all people held in it.
The Sheriff's team works with Searcy Police, Beebe Police, Bald Knob Police, Kensett Police, Bradford Police, Pangburn Police, Rose Bud Police, and the Arkansas State Police on local arrests. All agencies can book a person into the White County Detention Center.

Visitation uses a mix of in-person and video visits. Commissary and mail follow the posted rules on the Sheriff's Office site. The Detention Center serves the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Searcy. Pre-trial holds and court-ordered holds all flow through the jail. Work release programs run out of the same facility.
