Chief Deputy Kevin "Bart" Simpson is second in command. The office runs patrol, civil process, court security, and the Detention Center. Under Arkansas Code § 12-41-502, the Sheriff has custody of the jail and all people held in it.

The Sheriff's team works with Ash Flat Police, Cherokee Village Police, Hardy Police, Highland Police, and the Arkansas State Police on local arrests. Sharp County covers 606 square miles, and the jail serves the whole area. Cherokee Village is the largest city in the county, but Ash Flat remains the county seat.

Sharp County Detention Center

Visitation runs Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm. Holidays are excluded. Each inmate gets one free visit per week from the lobby kiosk.
