This page shows how to find an inmate fast, how to send money, and how to pull booking files through the state. Hot Springs is the county seat.

From the home page, pick the Sheriff's tab and then Inmate Search. The roster shows current bookings with a name, charge, and booking date.
For a backup, the Arkansas state tool at apps.ark.org/inmate_info covers state-held Garland County inmates. Pick Garland from the county filter to narrow the list. The state tool does not show recent county jail bookings. It only shows inmates the state has taken into prison custody.
Garland County Sheriff's Office
The Garland County Sheriff's Office is at 501 Ouachita Avenue, Hot Springs, AR 71901. The main phone is 501-622-3600. The office handles patrol, warrants, court security, civil process, and the jail. Under Arkansas Code § 12-41-502, the Sheriff has full custody of the county jail and every person held in it.
The Circuit Clerk for Garland County is Vicki Rima. The Circuit Clerk handles circuit court files, marriage license data, and land records. Jail booking data is held by the Sheriff's Office, not the Circuit Clerk.
Deputies work with the Hot Springs Police Department, the Arkansas State Police, and the Drug Task Force. All of these agencies can bring people to the Garland County Jail for booking. Every booking feeds into the same Jail Roster.
FOIA Portal and Garland County Jail Roster Access
Garland County runs a modern FOIA request portal at garlandcountyar.nextrequest.com. You can submit, track, and pay for records asks online. This is one of the best FOIA tools in Arkansas. The portal lets you send a file, add a note, and watch the clock run down to the three-day deadline.
The image above shows the portal. Pick "Submit a Request" to start. You can ask for jail records, arrest logs, and past Jail Roster copies.
Arkansas Code § 25-19-101 makes most Garland County jail records open. The county has three business days to reply to a written FOIA request. Some items are held back. Juvenile files are closed under § 9-27-309. Medical records held by the jail are closed under § 12-12-1707, in line with HIPAA.
Note: The Garland County FOIA portal is the best way to ask for a full copy of a past Jail Roster or an arrest report.
Garland County Jail Facility
The Garland County Jail holds people waiting on a first court date or serving short county sentences. The jail takes in bookings from the Sheriff's Office, Hot Springs PD, and the Arkansas State Police. Federal holds also land at the jail from time to time.
First court appearance is usually the next business day. The judge sets bond at that hearing. Bond types used in Garland County include cash, surety, own recognizance, and Rule 5.2 pre-trial release. Only the court can raise or lower a bond once it is set.
Visits, mail, and commissary rules are posted on the Sheriff's pages. Most Arkansas county jails now run video visits through third-party vendors. Call 501-622-3600 for the current schedule before a trip to the jail.
Garland County Jail Roster Details
Each roster entry shows the inmate's name, a booking date, the charges, and the bond amount. It may also list the arresting agency. When a person is let out, the record clears from the current list. Past booking data is kept by the jail but may require a FOIA ask to pull.
Juvenile cases do not show on the roster. Arkansas Code § 9-27-309 keeps them closed. Medical files are closed under § 12-12-1707. If the inmate you are looking for is held on a federal charge, some data may be held back until the case is unsealed.
For release alerts, sign up with VINE. The tool sends a text or call when an inmate's status changes. It is free and works for Garland County and all other Arkansas counties.
Court Records and Jail Roster Cases
Most cases that start with a booking on the Garland County Jail Roster go to Hot Springs District Court or the 18th Judicial Circuit. The Arkansas Judiciary case search at caseinfo.arcourts.gov covers both. Type a name or case number to get case status, judge, and hearing dates.
Fines and costs may be paid at pay.arcourts.gov. The main court site at arcourts.gov lists each clerk. Arkansas Code § 12-27-113(2)(A) controls what state inmate data the Department of Correction may share with the public.
If a Garland County inmate moves to state prison after a plea or verdict, check the state portal. People on the ADC waiting list may not show in the state system right away. The move from county jail to state prison can take weeks.
State Tools for the Garland County Jail Roster
Statewide tools add to what the county posts. The VINE service is free. Sign up with a name and date of birth to get a text or phone alert when the inmate's status changes. VINE works for Garland County and every other Arkansas county.
The Arkansas State Police background check tool at ark.org/criminal costs $25 for a mail-in report. The Arkansas Crime Information Center runs the sex offender registry. Both tools pull from state data, not the county jail, so they cover different ground from the Garland County Jail Roster.
The LexisNexis police reports site at policereports.lexisnexis.com hosts reports from many Arkansas agencies. Check it for Hot Springs PD reports when you need the full arrest report and not just a roster line.
For crash reports linked to a Garland County arrest, the Arkansas State Police tool at crashreports.ark.org is the main source. Most crash reports are free, but some may need a small fee. This is a side tool for any DUI or traffic case that ended in a jail booking.
